North Oakland Medical Clinic Foundations serves a diverse community in an
inner urban area with many patients who fall outside the mainstream of medical
care. Many members of this community are in need of medical, social, family and
public health services. Many are medically underinsured or have no insurance and
often even no funds to allow for simple needs such as transportation to and from
their medical appointments. NOMC regularly provides these services, free of
charge , to those in need. Delays or postponement of these vital services often
makes the difference between permanent disability and productive lives. It is
your dollars that assure the continued stability and services to these needy recipients,
infants to the elderly.

COMMUNITY RESPONSIBILITY
Millions of Americans are still uninsured or underinsured, not covered for even
basic medical and emergency services. Local and community based clinics are often the safety
net for individual and family medical problems and crises.
Availibility of the personal, professional and community-based services provided
by NOMC have helped thousands over the 30 years of community based service to regain healthy,
useful and productive lives. Find out other ways to help your community below.
COMMUNITY NETWORK
The stability of Dr. Thompson's 30 years of service as Medical Director of NOMC has supported
development of an extensive network of resources in many specialties such as Cardiology, Gastroenterology,
Neurology, Orthopedic surgery and other critical medical specialties.
NOMC also serves as a resource for social services referrals, such as safe houses for
battered women, community-based programs for narcotics and alcohol addiction, referral for long-term care,
in-home care, Hospice care and end-of-life issues.
DONATIONS
The number of uninsured Californians is skyrocketing and donations from responsible,
caring and community minded people like you is a needed funding source for the necessary services for
the less fortunate whose needs are without any other coverage. Local, State, and Federal programs do
not fill every need. The "Safety Net" is missing many people in need. You can make a difference.
Making a bequest is one of the simplest ways to make a gift donation to
North Oakland Medical Clinic Foundation. Your gift donation can provide critical support to any area you choose.
